1. SEAL IT UP

Mice and rats can fit through a dime-sized hole, making it very easy to enter your home you must be very        thorough, when looking for entry points.  If a dime can fit in it, SEAL IT UP.

Apply 1/4" Screens to any vents and openings that lead into the house, attic or basements.

Seal All Structural cracks and holes and voids on the outside of your house by using caulk, steel wool, copper wool or all three. Do Not use spray foam alone, fill the hole with steel wool first then apply the spray foam.

Clean any debris and covering and maintaining your trash. Don’t Give Mice a reason to be attracted to your home in the first place. Make sure there are no traces of food for mice to enjoy.

Store firewood at least 30 feet away from the house and keep shrubbery trimmed and cut back from the house. Mice use thick foliage as a protective pathway to your home and as cover from predators like cats, owls, snakes, and more.

DOES IRISH SPRING, PEPPERMINT OIL, DRYER SHEETS, BRIGHT LIGHTS, ULTRA SONIC PEST REPELLERS KEEP MICE AWAY?

DOES SOAP KEEP MICE AWAY?

Many people believe that the smell of some soaps can keep mice from entering your house or RV. There is no evidence that any of this is true, I wouldn't waste your time on trying to see if this is an effective solution to getting rid of mice in your RV or Home.

PEPPERMINT OIL TO KEEP MICE AWAY

Using peppermint oil to repel mice is our opinion doesn't work well, Ive actually has a mouse poop on a peppermint oil pack I purchased at Home Depot and placed in my RV, so to me that showed that it really doesn't work. Most people use cotton balls that have been dipped in 100% peppermint oil. They then place these cotton balls around their home. this may provide a temporary fix, it isn’t a permanent solution. The best way to get rid of mice is to Trap them. One of the best most efficient mouse traps is A rolling log mouse trap.

DO DRYER SHEETS KEEP MICE AWAY?

Don't expect scented dryer sheets to work any pest-control miracles. Dryer sheets don’t deter mice.

DOES BRIGHT LIGHT DETER MICE?

As for the lights inside your house, it is not an effective mice deterrent. This is because they can easily look for dark areas to hide inside houses until such time as all lights are turned off. While the lights are on, they can hide inside walls, crawl spaces, attics, and ceilings. They would just lie in wait until they feel it is safe to go out.

Lights that are set up around the perimeter of a house are an effective deterrent though. They are prevented from crossing the lighted perimeter and from trying to enter into the premises. Mice would rather go look elsewhere for food in a dark area.

ULTRA SONIC MICE REPELLERS WORK?

Ultrasonic pest repellers emit high-frequency sounds that manufacturers claim reduce household pest infestation, but laboratory tests have shown that the majority of such devices do not work. Don't waste your time or money on these gimmicks.

WHAT IS THE BEST MOUSE TRAP?

SNAP TRAPS

While Victor Snap traps work well, they have their downfalls, The are a hassle and are slow. You have to purchase multiple snap traps, bait and set each one. These mouse traps only kill one mouse at a time and also have false triggers if not set up correctly, this results in a slow extermination of your mice problem.

GLUE TRAPS

Glue traps for mice sometimes work and sometimes they don't, mice can still get away with stealing bait from a glue trap.  Also they are very messy to deal with, sometimes the mouse is still alive on the trap when you check on it the next day.

MOUSE POISON

Mouse poison is said to only get rid of 25% of your mouse problem.   If you have a colony of mice (which you do) mouse poison will not get rid of your entire problem, it will only slow it down.
